My Book!!! Alien Invasion: The Hypocamerians

Yes, that’s right! I’ve written a science-fiction book on aliens. I started my manuscript when I was ten and I finished when I was eleven. Now, at the age of twelve, I am about to publish it. From a very young age, I’ve loved books. I spend most of my free time stuffing my nose in books. It might be because I’m bored. It might be something to do with homework. Or, in some very rare cases, it might be because I’m trying to bore myself to sleep.

A bit about my book

Come to think of it, I don’t really remember what inspired me to write my book. Perhaps it was when I came to the end of the Trials of Apollo series and I realised I had nothing I actually wanted to read left. Or maybe it was the idea that I could create a whole new world of words myself. Anyway, the book, as you can probably guess is about aliens. The main character is a clumsy boy called Luke Chalker and he loves animals.

On his birthday, which is also the first day in Year 7 at Luke’s school, Luke Chalker stumbles across three strange figures that claim that they are called Hypocamerians who just so happen to be aliens. After a narrow escape, Luke wakes up the next morning to see that his house is completely empty, the people in the streets keep repeating their conversations and the postman has six fingers. When Luke is forced to leave his house, the only people who can help him are his uncle and a few new friends. Travelling through space and time all the way to Lord Maddelous’ portal, Luke needs all the luck he can get.

Writing this book has been a pleasure and somewhat a challenge. I hope this article inspires you to read my book and maybe, just maybe, write one of your own.
